dining.

3.25.2011

Dinner tonight was at mine and D's favorite place for sushi, Joss in Annapolis, MD--only tonight I was without him and instead of my normal, adventurous sushi-date, I shared dinner with my darling little sister--who can be a VERY picky eater.  I know, I know, why even bother? She's always saying "Let's go get sushi!!" But what she really means is "Let's go to Joss and i'll only order Chicken Teriyaki and Spring rolls because I would never even THINK about eating raw fish or seaweed (they call that a salad?!)"  However, I oblige because it's my personal mission to get her to try ONE thing each time that she wouldn't normally try.

Tonight I made her try fried squid legs:

And raw Escolar (mine and D's favorite, and tonight I got to enjoy those two fleshy little pieces of deliciousness all to myself)

For dessert we shared grilled bananas with the sweetest vanilla ice cream and fried pralines...it was eaten too fast for a photo...sorry, maybe next time.

This photo is for my darling D who couldn't be with us tonight...he loves to eat the garnish.

  1. Remember when we used to go there in high school, and eat so much we'd have to undo our pants and lay in the car before we could go do anything? I want to do that, like, right now. I haven't found sushi anywhere as good as Joss:( You should come out to Portland and we'll eat & drink. The food scene here is so so amazing. Plus we've got great wine and we're the microbrew capital of the world! You know you want to:)
